For this piece I was given this fact: Avoiding 10 miles of driving a week eliminates 500 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions a year. I was then asked to create a simple image to represent it for an advertisement for the Environmental Protection Agency.

Plaid
This portrait was taken in a studio using a “piggyback” lighting method. I captured a moment that shows the model’s personality. In its final form the image became black and white because color took away from the quality of the light, and the composition.
