You Are Pixel Perfect

You Are Pixel Perfect

You Are Pixel Perfect started as something I yelled at my roommate, realizing moments afterward it was probably the nicest thing I had ever said to anyone. I made up a graphic to go with the phrase and since it was right around Valentine’s day I had stickers printed and gave them away to my friends. I stuck them up in random places and encouraged friends to do the same with the hopes that some downtrodden soul would see them and it would lift their spirits, or at least produce a smile upon receiving the anonymous nerdy compliment. The phrase, people’s enthusiasm over the stickers, and my timely enrollment in a php class prompted me to create a www.youarepixelperfect.com. It’s an extremely simple, completely anonymous forum for users to leave love notes to people, places, and things. These notes range from their love of JELL-O, to marriage proposals. The amount of traffic the site generated was completely unexpected, but it was very exciting to build something people enjoyed interacting with. To view the site please visit www.youarepixelperfect.com

craigslist redesign

Craigslist Redesign

I was given the HTML code for Cragslist and asked to do a redesign using CSS, leaving the HTML mostly untouched. Since Craigslist consists almost entirely of long lists I used jQuery to hide and show content,  making the huge amount of content easier to navigate. When returning to the site users would find the same drop downs expanded as when they left. This will give the user quick and easy access to the sections they use frequently. Web New Media

New Media Gallery

I designed this site for the Web Design New Media home page. They wanted ideas of how they could present student work. I wanted to give it a delicate, print feeling. I used mainly text in the design and tried not to take away attention from the work being displayed. I built the site as a wordpress, so it could be easily kept up to date with new work. In the categories, I added a way to easily attach a badge to the work to show it had placed in the spring show. I built in a taxonomy system to allow users to see work by student, teacher, semester, or class. I used jQuery for rollovers to highlight which thumbnail the viewer is mousing over.

learn to juggle

Learn to Juggle!

In this project I created a flash website that teaches the user to juggle in six steps. I used a first person view, and created a background to made it look like the user is juggling on a stage. A red curtain animates open and closed between each step of the instructions. This project is coded in ActionScript 3.

W Hotel

This was a group project I worked on with Simone Park and Jen Huh. We redesigned the W Hotel San Francisco website. We used four squares as a unifying design element throughout the site, each containing different information about the hotel. Our navigation used almost entirely rollovers, hiding and showing the information they contained  the squares.

bpong W.S.O.B.P. page

BPONG W.S.O.B.P. Page Redesign

This is a redesign I did for the World Series of Beer Pong page on bpong.com. I simplified the navigation by using four large clearly labeled buttons, making it easy for the user to quickly locate the information they need. I also integrated a large gallery into the page so the user could get a feeling for the event as they learn more about it.

PANTONE Website

PANTONE Website

The website is an interactive version of the poster where the visitor can browse the many customers of PANTONE. As the visitor browses through the people on the site their profile will come up, as well as the color they are wearing. This proves a unique way for the users to look through colors and other working professionals who use PANTONE simultaneously.
Recipients of the mailer will be prompted to click the upload button where they will be taken to a forms page requesting the input of basic information, a brief summary of what they do, the color PANTONE shirt they received, and most importantly a photo of them wearing their shirt. After completing the form they will be added into line of designers for other users to see and discover.
As the number of recipients who upload their photo grows, the full PANTONE spectrum will appear. Eventually every shade will be present, each represented by one of the recipients of the mailer.
